Yvonne Craig fan club & shop review

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

Hello all!

As promised in an earlier post about the Adam West Store, here is a review of Yvonne Craig’s and like Adam’s its all positive!

Shop (Pix and Autographs)

I placed my order on the 11th November then received it on the 19th so it took a week to arrived – perfect! I have scanned my picture below (click to enlarge). Also with that photo Yvonne sends the signed comic book free too (which I believe is in limited supply) and is also picture below:

So its well worth purchasing. I got them both with my fan club membership. Shipping from Yvonne’s website is slightly more expensive than Adam’s but this is its only issue. Again, the process was quick, easy and safe!

Fan Club

Her club offers:

“* a personal on line newsletter from Yvonne twice a year
* an audio clip section to hear from Yvonne in person
* video and partial transcript of the original 1967 Batman pilot which introduced Yvonne Craig as “Batgirl”
* reviews straight from Yvonne”

- Taken from YvonneCraig.Com

The pilot video is in fantastic quality, infact its the best quality version of it which I have seen. It is of course the 1967 pilot which was shown to ABC executives to give Batman its third season. More info on this can be found here : http://bat-mania.co.uk/main/batgirl/index.php

Her personal newsletter is very informative, its not only just about Batman related news but also an insight into what Yvonne is up to. She was also part of other shows like the original Star Trek series so features information about her other ventures. The reviews section speaks for itself, reviews written by Yvonne about books, dvds etc..

Membership is totally reasonable, just a one off payment as it lasts a lifetime. If you live within the United States it costs $12.95 anywhere else in the world costs $15.95.

Again, thanks for visiting!

Burgess Meredith (Penguin) Birthday

Monday, November 16th, 2009

Today (16th November) is the birthdate for Burgess Meredith who of course played as the ‘waddling bird of foul play’ aka the Penguin on Batman. If still alive Burgess would have been 102 today. Born in Cleveland Ohio in 1907 he was the most prominant villain in the Batman series appearing in 20 episodes plus the 1966 Batman Movie. For more information about his role as the Penguin visit this webpage : http://www.bat-mania.co.uk/main/villains/penguin.php

Other than Batman, Burgess is best known for playing Mickey Goldmill who was Rocky’s trainer during the Rocky film series. Burgess won an Emmy Award as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy or Drama Special for the 1977 television film “Tail Gunner Joe”. His last appearance was narrating the video game “Ripper”.

Meredith sadly passed away on September 9th 1997 due to Alzheimer’s disease. Burgess has a star on the walk of fame at Hollywood Boulevard.

Received my signed Adam West & Burt Ward photo today!

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

Hello all!

Today I received this signed photo which I had ordered from Adam West’s website:

Adam West & Burt Ward signed photo

I placed the order on the 24th October, was sent on the 28th, and got to me today (10th November). So considering it was sent from the US to the UK the delivery was pretty quick! As soon as I noticed the “Idaho Ketchum” stamp on the packaging I had to get it open as fast as possible!

I would recommend everyone buying off of the Adam West Store (http://shop.adamwest.com) as they post your item ASAP, with cheap delivery cost (only $5). The photo itself cost $55 (USD) which came to about £35 (GBP) which I think is reasonable for such a quality item which is surely going up on my bedroom wall xD  So basically im chuffed all round, so if you have any hesitations about ordering online from Adam’s website, I can assure you that the transaction is safe and a fantastic service is offered!

I am hoping to get Yvonne Craig’s autograph next to add to my collection, so will blog about her website service when I get to ordering it etc..

Thanks for visiting my website!!
