The Dark Knight Rises – Official Teaser Trailer #2

Monday, December 19th, 2011

Here it is the second teaser trailer for the third and final Christopher Nolan Batman movie which will be released in the summer next year. The first 6 minutes of the film is being shown this week in BFI IMAX just before screenings of the new Mission Impossible film. I will be seeing this myself on Thursday and will write a post in this blog about it on Friday once i’ve seen it. I know this website is about the classic 1960′s series of Batman but I do respect and enjoy the darker portrayls of the character. So far, in my opinion, it looks like Nolan will complete a perfect film trilogy!

Cliff Robertson, who starred as John F. For us Batman fan’s he played the cowboy villain Shame in the beloved 1960′s television series. He sadly passed away today on the 10th September 2011.

Batman movie avalible to download through Playstation Store

Friday, November 19th, 2010

The 1966 Batman movie is now avalible to download through the Playstation Store on the PS3 console. You can either rent the movite for £2.49 or keep it permanately on your hard-drive for £6.99 (I would recommend buying it on Blu-Ray instead).

I downloaded the film to rent and have just watched it. This was the first time I have used the PlayStation Store for movie rental and have to say I am impressed. The picture and sound quality was DVD quality with the download only taking around an hour, and could be downloaded in the background.

So if you have a PS3 and wish to watch this great film again and again download it now from the PlayStation store. And do not forget to rate the film after you watched it by clicking to rent/buy the product again on the PS Store and clicking on rate.

1939 Batman Dectective Comics No.2 smashes Superman’s record

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

On Monday 22nd February 2010 Superman’s first comic book became the first comic to sell for $1 million, making it the worlds most prestigious comic. However just three days later on Thursday 25th February, 1939 Dectective comics issue number 27 which features Batman’s first ever appearance sold for $1,075,500 beating Superman’s record!

The previous record was held for a 1938 Superman comic which sold for $317,000 back in 2009.

According to Mr Allen (sales director of Heritage) their have been only a maximum of 200 copies of Dectective Comics No.27 in existance. When it was sold back in 1939 the retail price was 10 cents for the comic, the owner who put his copy up for sale purchased his for $100 during the 1960′s. The comic was rated 8/10 in condition so is in a reasonably mint state.

This has to be fantastic news for any Batman fan, as this is a clear indication that Batman is the most popular and sort after superhero/comic book today.
