Batman View Master

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Hello all!

I just want to share with you all my new bat-purchase, a Batman view master set. Bought off of ebay for £13.50 (bargain) arrived yesterday in fantastic condition. The set came with a book which tells the story of the “Purr-Fect Crime/Better Luck Next Time” episodes with three picture reels – I also got my first viewmaster with it aswell! (All pictured above, obviously couldn’t scan the actual viewmaster!) Also click on an image above to enlarge.

I am amazed with it, when you look into the glasses the picture actually looks 3D. The best way of describing it, is its like looking through a window and watching the story unfold right in front of you, Catwoman just standing just a few centimetres away- very cool! If you do not have one of these I seriously suggest you go search for it on ebay, as this item is a right treat!

Scott Sebring has actually made a flash version of the viewmaster story, using the same pictures and text from the book. The pictures used are screencaps though, seems like 3D internet has not come around yet! =P You can see this here : http://www.batfriend.com/splashes/gaf/viewer.swf

Burt Ward VIP & Shop review

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

Hello all!

Firstly I would like to apologise for not posting for awhile, don’t worry I have not abandoned my website (simply had a busy christmas!) So I wish all you batfans a fantastic new year.

As you know I have been reviewing cast members website ordering services, so my first post of 2010 will be a review of Burt Ward’s website.

Membership to Burt’s website costs $15 (£9) per year, unlike Yvonne’s lifetime membership Burt will charge you annually. However, if you want to be a member I would advise you sign up ASAP as it is limited to a thousand fans with me being #928. Signing up for membership is simple as it is all done through paypal, which as I have mentioned before is a safe and easy transaction. The membership details are then sent to your e-mail adress about two days later. The members website area is a “work in progress” at the moment, other than the more choice of merchandise to purchase from the website the members area offers little extra at the moment.

I then purchased a photo from the members area of a 10×8 signed by Yvonne and Burt (pictured below).

Burt Ward and Yvonne Craig autographs

Apperently there was only 30 developed and for me this picture stood out as the best avalible on his website. The only flaw with it is you couldn’t have it autographed for some werid but unknown reason? Seems only a selected range of photo’s from Burt’s website can be personalised which is ashame! The plus side of his website is that a hologram is placed on either the front or back of the photo which proves the signatures are authentic. On my photo the hologram was placed at the back. The downside to Burt’s ordering service is that it takes longer than all the other cast member’s. I placed my order on the 27th November, it was dispatched on the 16th December and didn’t arrive untill the new year. This could be just the busy christmas period however it did take a while to be dispatched. (That is the only criticism though!)

I received a “retro membership card” which shows my name and date when I signed up. A letter signed by Burt Ward and my photo all in one package with all items being individually sealed. All items in top condition!

So overall a nice service is offered by Burt Ward, one that I will recommend to all batfans. I still can not wait for Adam West’s fanclub to be up and running. Adam has recently launched his own Facebook page which is interesting : http://www.facebook.com/adamwest

I also plan to do more updates more my website in the next few weeks so stay tuned to the blog as all new update news will be posted here.

Again, thanks for visiting my website!

Julie Newmar Shop

Friday, December 4th, 2009

Hello all!

In previous posts I have so far reviewed both Adam West’s and Yvonne Craig’s online stores/features. Recently I gave Julie Newmar (Catwoman’s) online store a go and have found that she has the best online service going!

I ordered photo #12 from here online shop (http://www.julienewmar.com/shop_photos.php) on the 29th November, which made a speedy arrive to me today on the 4th December. Best of all postage on her website is 100% FREE. The photo cost $30 (about £15) which is signed and personalised for no furthur cost. To purchase from her website you will need a PayPal account, which again is free and completely safe to use. Set-up for account only takes about 5 minutes max. So here is what I purchased:

Julie Newmar as Catwoman autograph

Now I have Adam, Burts, Yvonne’s and Julie Newmar’s autographs up on my wall and am very pleased. If you were like me and never had any of the casts autograph photo’s I seriously recomend you think about giving these online shops a try as I am very pleased with my purchases.

I am thinking of setting up a webpage displaying the links to all the stores and help with purchasing the products so stay tuned! Also aswell I will be changing the front splash webpage to my website bringing a more chritstmas feel to it.

Thanks again for visiting!

Yvonne Craig fan club & shop review

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

Hello all!

As promised in an earlier post about the Adam West Store, here is a review of Yvonne Craig’s and like Adam’s its all positive!

Shop (Pix and Autographs)

I placed my order on the 11th November then received it on the 19th so it took a week to arrived – perfect! I have scanned my picture below (click to enlarge). Also with that photo Yvonne sends the signed comic book free too (which I believe is in limited supply) and is also picture below:

So its well worth purchasing. I got them both with my fan club membership. Shipping from Yvonne’s website is slightly more expensive than Adam’s but this is its only issue. Again, the process was quick, easy and safe!

Fan Club

Her club offers:

“* a personal on line newsletter from Yvonne twice a year
* an audio clip section to hear from Yvonne in person
* video and partial transcript of the original 1967 Batman pilot which introduced Yvonne Craig as “Batgirl”
* reviews straight from Yvonne”

- Taken from YvonneCraig.Com

The pilot video is in fantastic quality, infact its the best quality version of it which I have seen. It is of course the 1967 pilot which was shown to ABC executives to give Batman its third season. More info on this can be found here : http://bat-mania.co.uk/main/batgirl/index.php

Her personal newsletter is very informative, its not only just about Batman related news but also an insight into what Yvonne is up to. She was also part of other shows like the original Star Trek series so features information about her other ventures. The reviews section speaks for itself, reviews written by Yvonne about books, dvds etc..

Membership is totally reasonable, just a one off payment as it lasts a lifetime. If you live within the United States it costs $12.95 anywhere else in the world costs $15.95.

Received my signed Adam West & Burt Ward photo today!

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

Hello all!

Today I received this signed photo which I had ordered from Adam West’s website:

Adam West & Burt Ward signed photo

I placed the order on the 24th October, was sent on the 28th, and got to me today (10th November). So considering it was sent from the US to the UK the delivery was pretty quick! As soon as I noticed the “Idaho Ketchum” stamp on the packaging I had to get it open as fast as possible!

I would recommend everyone buying off of the Adam West Store (http://shop.adamwest.com) as they post your item ASAP, with cheap delivery cost (only $5). The photo itself cost $55 (USD) which came to about £35 (GBP) which I think is reasonable for such a quality item which is surely going up on my bedroom wall xD  So basically im chuffed all round, so if you have any hesitations about ordering online from Adam’s website, I can assure you that the transaction is safe and a fantastic service is offered!

I am hoping to get Yvonne Craig’s autograph next to add to my collection, so will blog about her website service when I get to ordering it etc..

Thanks for visiting my website!!
